The security team your wallet never had.
An XRP Ledger payment is final in seconds, and nothing reverses a theft. Defence has to happen before you sign. Cove Shield is how Cove does that for every wallet, all the time.
Software may detect and nominate, but only a second person can approve a block, and only a signed list can deliver one.
From the ledger to your phone, in four steps.
Watch every ledger
Cove's own XRP Ledger nodes read every validated ledger. Chainhound, Cove's investigation system, looks for the patterns real thefts leave behind.
Nominate, never block
Detections are explained and scored, then nominated. Nothing is blocked by software alone, so a legitimate account isn't caught by a guess.
A person approves
A Cove analyst reviews the evidence and a second person approves the block. Every decision is recorded.
Every wallet enforces it
The list is signed with Cove's keys and reaches every Cove wallet. The part of Cove that holds your keys refuses to pay a blocked address.
The attacks that empty wallets.
- Known thieves. Accounts that received stolen funds, from incidents Cove has investigated.
- Address poisoning. A look-alike of someone you pay, planted in your history so you copy the wrong one.
- Dusting. Tiny payments sprayed at many accounts to lure people in.
- Ledger tricks. Payments that display one amount and deliver another, keys and signer lists handed to strangers, and tokens issued under borrowed names.
- Your own list. Block any address yourself, in Settings, Cove Shield.
Like security software at work
Companies stopped relying on each person to spot every attack long ago. They put an agent on every laptop, feed it from sensors, and push new definitions within minutes. Cove does the same for your wallet, without taking your keys.
It can't touch your money
Shield only stops your wallet from paying a blocked address. It can't move, freeze or see your funds, and Cove never holds your keys.
Checked twice
When you save a contact, and again on your phone before every signature. No setting, button or app update can skip it.
Shield protects every Cove wallet. Memberships keep it running.
The nodes that read every ledger, the analysts who investigate and approve, and the signing that keeps lists honest all cost money every day. A Cove membership pays for Cove's servers, Cove Shield and updates.
The details are public
The Chainhound and Cove Shield whitepaper explains the design: the sensors, the detection engines, the analyst console, the signed lists and the agent in every wallet. Detection rules themselves stay private, so attackers can't tune around them.
